About Steve Vick
Swimming
has been a central part of Steve Vick’s life ever since he began competitive
swimming at the age of five in Lakewood, Ohio. His competitive career
led to a scholarship at Ashland College in Akron, Ohio (NCAA Div.
II), where he swam the individual medley, butterfly and freestlye.
Steve has been an Alaska resident for over six years, originally coming up for a position as a Backcountry Ranger in Denali National Park. He spent a winter mushing dogs in Healy and since then has aquired 6 dogs of his own. He now lives in Haines Alaska -moving there in August 2004 when he became the head swim coach of the local swim team.
